The Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) method can be effectively used to teach the ancient martial art of tai chi chuan, which is a form of choreographed boxing, in a multicultural environment. The LMA provides an objective and elemental structure for explaining basic concepts that are easily understood by anybody regardless of race. These movement basics are flow, weight, time and space. Its use helps teachers become more objective in determining the rightness or wrongness of a certain movement in the sport.
