THE captain and the navigating officer of a Royal Navy frigate which ran on to rocks in a Norwegian fjord pleaded guilty to negligence at a court martial today.

The 170million warship, HMS Grafton, was off its intended route when it ran aground. The court martial in Portsmouth heard today that Commander Robert Sanguinetti and Lieutenant Desmond Donworth had failed to notice that the vessel was entering shallow water and a warning from the Norwegian harbour authorities that they were "standing into danger" was ignored.
