The Center for Twentieth-Century Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has sponsored a conference entitled 'Women and Aging: Bodies, Cultures, Generations.' Age studies on women have been a growing field among artists and scholars. The conference drew its resources from scholarly papers, performance art, poetry, film and photography. Participants and attendees became more aware of the issues of women and aging in culture and the advent of age studies as a scholarly discipline.
