A report issued last month by the Food and Drug Administration has cleared the way to lift a voluntary moratorium on the sale of meat and milk products from cloned animals.

The decision could allow companies to make the United States the first nation to put such products on the market, perhaps as early as later this year.

But, as the folks at Hebrew National might ask, what does "a higher authority" have to say about it? That is, could meat or milk derived from cloned animals be kosher?
