About a dozen conservative activists and members of Congress will meet with President Clinton next week to share their views of race relations, the White House announced today in a move the administration hopes will mute criticism that its dialogue on race has been one-sided. In a conscious effort to reach out to opponents, the White House included in the discussion group Ward Connerly, the University of California regent who spearheaded Proposition 209, which abolished governmental racial preferences in the nation's largest state.
