The British are more tolerant than Americans of the religious affiliations of their politicians, particularly Labor Party leader Tony Blair and his public declaration of Christianity. The UK media seriously treats the debate between the Labor Party and the Conservative Party over Christian socialism. Under the same situation, US media would respond with a press blackout. Unlike the US, the UK has no constitutional separation of church and state; hence, the absence of discomfort in religious-political discussions.
