Chris Isner's preoccupation with skin sets him apart from other body artists. Fleshy latex, pig skin and his own flesh are central tom many of his works which always sensual in tone. A native of Los Angeles, CA, living in San Francisco, CA, Isner's style appears to be late-Modernist and addresses issues of identity. In concordance to the 1990s focus on the human body, Isner attempts to exemplify the move towards individual expression through tattooing and body piercing.
In this ongoing series, writers are invited to introduce the work of artists at the beginning of their careers.
