A guardian was appointed Monday to help Chestnut Hill hermit Bill Britt get medical assistance and find alternative housing, over the objections of Britt. Despite Britt's request to stay the appointment, Chief Housing Court Judge E. George Daher named Rev. Robert F. Quinn, a Roman Catholic priest, as Britt's guardian. Britt immediately filed an appeal of Daher's order. Britt, 50, has lived for the past 19 years on 5 acres of land that includes parts of Evergreen Cemetery and Chestnut Hill Reservoir.
