Traditions die hard in Britain, Euroe, and elsewhere in the world, but America is a restless country, forever seeking the Big New: new land, new leaders, new entertainment, new foods, and new beverages. This is particularly pronounced on the West where a sense of discovery and adventure is part of the definition of western living.
