University libraries in Western Australia plan to increase cost savings and efficiencies by restructuring their cataloging procedures. Changes included community, commercial and cooperative methods such as outsourcing operations. While outsourcing may incur costs needed to correct some records in-house, research indicates that significant overall savings can be generated by having cataloging done offsite.
