A FORMER royal protection officer who sued for [pounds sterling]10million after beingcritically injured in a car crash settled out of court yesterday.

Lawyers for John Alcock came to an agreement on the day evidence was due tostart in one of the largest personal injury claims ever in Scotland.

Mr Alcock suffered serious brain injuries and now needs 24- hour care after thecrash involving an Italian tourist while on duty more than four years ago.
