CHILDREN should be taught from the age of 11 that Darwin's theory of evolution is a fact, an eminent scientist said yesterday. Dr Richard Pike, chief executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, said that all schools must stop referring to evolution as 'just an idea'. His comments were made amid a long-running row over claims that some of Tony Blair's flagship city academies teach creationism in science lessons.
