Pipe and piping products are usually purchased as complete systems, specified to buyers' requests and including all necessary gaskets, valves and flanges, couplings, etc. for specific processes.
Pipe prices generally depend on a number of factors, only one of which is raw materials pricing. Other considerations include size and scope of the piping apparatus, installation, necessary coatings and insulation, and maintenance.
