THE 814th Engineer Company from Fort Polk, La., called for assis

tance from the 7th Aviation Regiment at Fort Campbell, Ky., to complete a river-- crossing exercise this past spring. The aviation unit's CH-47 Chinooks airlifted the engineers' bridge-erector boats and six-ton bridge bays into the Mississippi River near Simmesport, La.
