In response to James Williamson's letter, "Where was Clinton?" (BDN, Dec. 30), the answer is that he was right where he should have been. When it was his to do he put a stop to the raping and murder in Bosnia. He (and only he) found a way out of the bloodshed in Northern Ireland, and nobody though Haiti was salvageable until he cleaned up that mess.

On one of the rare occasions he resorted to violence over thoughtful diplomacy, he bombed the Afghan training camp of Osama bin Laden, but the Congress, mostly the Republicans, would not give him authority for all-out-war in Afghanistan, Sudan or ...
