Bay pupils, school staff carry teacher in hearts

If you see someone wearing a heart pin today, it might be another person who is missing Cindy Nelson.

Nelson, a second-grade teacher at Richards Elementary School in Whitefish Bay, collapsed after giving a presentation to the School Board on Feb. 18.

Her fellow staff members came together many times in the following days, some starting to make little wooden heart pins in her honor.
