Foreigners are eager to invest in Vietnam. The Taiwanese companies Pan Viet and Central Trading and Development Corp are big investors. Pan Viet plans to set up a 20,000 hectare banana plantation, which would make Vietnam a leading banana exporter. But Vietnam's shaky economy and communist government may topple investment plans.
