FRANKFORT -- It certainly wasn't a partridge in a pear tree. And six crows weren't in a good mood, having to share their tall tree near the Kentucky River with a newcomer.
When Danny Hammond got out of his pickup truck in the parking lot at the Frankfort wastewater treatment plant in Bellepoint about 10:30 on a recent gray and damp morning, the first things he noticed were the unhappy crows. Then he saw a larger bird, thinking for a second it must be a vulture.
