Baker & Taylor's only software warehouse, located in Simi Valley, Calif., was wrecked by the January 17 earthquake. The building is currently "red-tagged," meaning that B & T employees cannot go inside or get access to inventory. Besides structural damage, including collapsed roofs in some areas, there is water damage from sprinklers, which ran for 20 minutes after the quake. B & T moved into the facility only last June.
