Baker & Taylor Books and its sister Video and SoftKat (software) distribution divisions are now being operated under a newly formed parent company--Baker & Taylor Inc. The private corporation was established last week following the official sale of the three divisions by W. R. Grace to the Carlyle Group, a private merchant banking and investment firm based in Washington, D.C.
