Three gunmen were arrested by police after they locked employees and customers in a public restroom in a failed attempted to rob the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at 86th St, and Lexington Ave. in New York City. No one was injured during the incident. Gary Johnson, director of loss prevention at Barnes & Noble, told PW that the three alleged assailants walked into the store on the morning of June 7, "entered the public restrooms, assembled automatic weapons and proceeded to herd employees, customers and the security guard into the restrooms."
