B & N Acquires Former Trademark, Changes Corporate Name BDB Corporation, parent company of Barnes & Noble Bookstores and B. Dalton Bookseller, announced a change in its corporate name to Barnes & Noble Inc. after securing rights to the Barnes & Noble Publishing trademark from HarperCollins. With the reacquisition of its namesake publishing trademark, the bookstore chain also announced plans to expand its publishing and reprint program.
