In Israel, a Hebrew-speaking country of over 6 million people, approximately 9,000 children are deaf or hard of hearing. AV Israel was founded in 1995 to provide information, resources and support to families of children with hearing loss wanting to explore an Auditory-Verbal approach. The first Israeli organization to become an AG Bell international affiliate, AV Israel has touched many lives since its founding and continues to work today to change perceptions about deafness and the potential of children with hearing loss.
