A failed movie house has given the owner of Horizon Enterprises Group L.L.C., Ron Palmer, and a nonprofit group the opportunity to build a regional performing arts center Downriver. Horizon Properties, a business unit of Horizon Enterprises, bought the two-screen Wyandotte Theatre in March for $600,000. The former movie house, built in 1938, stopped showing films in 1997. The plan is to modernize, renovate and rename the downtown Wyandotte theater, turning it into a community performing arts center.
