Artist of the week: Obsidian

About 1 pages (312 words)

St. Joseph News-Press, November 3rd, 2006

Most of the members of Obsidian were barely out of the womb in 1991 when Nirvana's "Nevermind" came out. But the local rockers are on a mission to bring back grunge. Fourteen-year-old singer and drummer Nikk Wolf sounds like the second coming of Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley. Wolf's 17-year-old brother, Steven, plays lead guitar. Clay White, 19, plays rhythm guitar, and Hunter Kelso, 15, plays bass. Except for Kelso, who's from Guilford, Mo., Obsidian hails from Barnard, Mo. The band would like to play more in this area.
