Even if you've never seen his art and are confused by his names -- Eli Levin or Jo Basiste? -- you have probably brushed up against Basiste (his current moniker) by a sheer six degrees of separation. For some four decades, Basiste has held first one, now four, salon- type gatherings of artists and wannabes in Santa Fe.
