Many composers were influenced by the music and philosophies of John Cage, yet Cage's work was so distinctly his that actual imitators have been few. One of Cage's closest colleagues was Morton Feldman (1926-1987), who has won a passionate and ever-expanding following among critics, musicians and the general public in the years since his death.
