Dear Dr. Gridlock: I must agree with your readers about the merits of living in Arlington. When we moved here in 1975, I told the Realtor that I wanted three things: 1. The kids could walk to school. 2. We could walk to a grocery store. 3. I would be able to take a bus to work. We got all three and, as it turned out, just a mile from the East Falls Church Metro station. Of course, there is a price to pay, one that Europeans will understand: We couldn't afford to buy our home at today's prices, and our tax assessment just went up by $59,000. W.E.
