With the temperature dipping below 40 degrees, we were in the mood for hot soup, fish, and a view that was easy on the eyes. This was accomplished by driving to Anthony's Pier 4 Cafe, the Swampscott restaurant formerly known as Hawthorne by the Sea. The ownership has stayed the same, and the former name has even been incorporated into the bar, renamed Hawthorne by the Sea Tavern. Since its sister restaurant, Anthony's Hawthorne in Lynn, closed last March, much of the help has moved to Swampscott, including Sue, who has waited on loyal Anthony's customers for 35 years.
