VIRGINIA BEACH -- VIRGINIA BEACH - Ann Marie Pearson de Montero, of the 1900 block of Falling Sun Circle, died Oct. 1, 2006. Ann, or "Ami" as she is known to family and friends, lived a very full life. She was born in Gotteborg, Sweden, in 1919 and emigrated from her native land to the United States in 1927 on board the vessel Stockholm, via Ellis Island. She grew up in Middletown, Conn., and won a scholarship to the School of Art in New York. Ami met Valentin Montero-Diaz, a Spaniard, in Martha's Vineyard in 1938 and married him on May 1, 1939.
