Hitting the road for a nine-city book tour, Ann Martin, author of the phenomenally popular Baby-sitters Club series, is out to tout not just her books but the values they promote. At Martin's request, her publisher, Scholastic, has asked participating bookstores to involve local children in projects to benefit community organizations. In exchange, Scholastic will donate books and promotional materials, and the Ann M. Martin Foundation will make a monetary contribution to each of the designated organizations.
