In a last-minute effort, Donna Karan staged an urgent fall DKNY presentation at her midtown showroom on the eve of New York fashion week. Strong in outerwear, the collection centers around a "Rustic Gentleman" theme. Leather and suede were cut into jackets and coats that were long, lean and distressed to give a vintage feel in mustards, bottle green -- and of course black. Suits fit for "country manor life" were cut close to the body in velvets and donegal tweeds. DKNY also touched on the ongoing military theme with officer trenches with patch pattern sweaters.
