Water and moisture in the product is rarely desirable, and the process industry has been measuring moisture and taking steps to lower humidity since Leonardo da Vinci and before.
Some industrial process analyzers are of the probe type-capacitance, fiber optic, infrared. Others look through the process stream in the pipe-microwave. The majority require some form of sampling system.
