A GIRL of 16 died after falling out of the back of a speeding ambulance on to a motorway in the early hours.
She opened the unlocked doors of the vehicle at 3.30am and tumbled out before a paramedic could stop her.
It is believed the teenager, who had been found collapsed in the street and was believed to have been drinking, was trying to find a toilet.
The girl was taken to hospital from the scene on the northbound carriageway of the M5 near junction 12, but died later from her injuries.
