The first European implants of the non-vascular pulmonary stents manufactured by US company Alveolus Inc took place in Germany in September, following the granting of European approval. The stents, two bronchial and one tracheal, were implanted in three patients at the Lungenklinik in Hemer, Germany by interventional pulmonologist Dr Lutz Freitag.
