Creator of psychedelic rock posters With their sinuous lettering and skulls-and-roses imagery, the Grateful Dead's album covers were as much a part of the San Francisco group's mystique as its psychedelic music. The graphic artist Alton Kelley, in partnership with Stanley Mouse (ne Miller), designed the striking sleeves, along with over 150 eye-catching concert posters for the Dead and other bands associated with the Haight-Ashbury scene and appearing in San Francisco at the height of the "Flower Power" age.
