Abstract The psychology of Alfred Adler (individual Psychology or Adlerian Psychology) is traditionally considered to be a psychoanalytical school. Nevertheless, there are many more similarities with more modern cognitive approaches, due to the importance which is given to cognitions as mediators of behavior. Adlerian Psychology can also be considered a constructivist theory. This article shows how Adlerian theory can fit in constructivist approaches.
