Much of the Oct. 11 debate between Al Gore and George W. Bush centered on the United States' role in the world.
In the exchange, Gore made a very important statement: "I think one of the big issues here that doesn't get nearly enough attention is the issue of corruption. The governor mentioned it earlier. I've worked on this issue. It's an enormous problem. And corruption in official agencies . . . that's one of the worst forms of it. And we have got to, again, lead by example . . . ."
