This rite of spring is all too short
A while back, somewhere between the vernal equinox and Father's Day, I discovered ramps-Allium tricoccum, or wild leeks-in the woods behind a friend's upstate New York farmhouse. My husband, Ronny, and I use the house often, and, as the area is free of specialty food stores, I've learned to walk with my head down, searching for food.
