TROY --As challenges of the state's new Adam Walsh Act for sex offenders continue to be filed with Miami County Common Pleas Court, hearings on requests for orders to halt the law's implementation have been delayed.
The challenges are being filed by lawyers and individuals, all claiming the 2007 law violates the right to due process, unconstitutionally applies retroactive punishments and is a breach of contract by changing terms of plea agreements.
