The close-knit community of teachers, students, families and administrators at Notre Dame Academy near Middleburg gathered at the school Friday morning to remember Mary Jane Combemale, who was killed in a car accident Thursday, and offer support for the five other students injured in the crash. Classmate Lauren Giannini remembered Combemale, 16, as a friend who had been there for her since the day they met.
