After 38 years, this Rhode Island theater is not afraid to shake up the status quo.
In most theaters, when the action in the raucous Michael Frayn farce No&,es Off moves backstage, a revolving turntable changes the setting from onstage to offstage. But that wouldn't do for Trinity Rep.
At Trinity, when it was time to go backstage, that's exactly what the audience did. They got up out of their comfortable seats and trooped en masse to the rear of the stage, where they mounted bleachers to view the remainder of the production.
