I read with considerable interest Nat Hentoff's "A Pro-Life Atheistic Civil Libertarian" (FREE INQUIRY, Fall 2001). Hentoff wrote that he became pro-life seventeen years ago when, among other things, he learned from doctors that a fetus is a separate genetic entity, an individual on the continuum of a living human being.
