On BROADWAY, A Few Good Men proved good, gripping boulevard fare, albeit a great wide way from art; I wish that at least that much could be claimed for the movie version. But thanks to the adaptation by Aaron Sorkin, the playwright himself (with an assist, we hear, from William Goldman), and the direction by Rob Reiner, just about everything that could go wrong did; even so, the movie, based on an actual incident, should not be dismissed by those who missed the play: it could have some educational value for people who depend on movies for their education.
