Back in the mid-1980s, the Air Force sent young aviators to train for a few years with highly experienced Guard and Reserve units. Called "Project Season," the program produced skilled pilots. It also forged lasting relationships. Those bonds, however, caused problems for some. Turns out some active duty pilots enjoyed their Guard time so much, they left the Air Force to join the Guard. Enough of them defected that Project Season became known in some circles as "Project Treason."
