There are several mistakes adults typically make with children who are grieving. Probably the most serious is to assume that children aren't as sad as we are because they aren't acting as sad. An 8-year-old may go bike riding moments after he was crying over the death of a close grandparent. A 6-year-old's first question may be, "Who will take me bowling on Saturdays?"
