DESPITE warnings from an impressive range of scientists, President Bush and Congress are pressing ahead with the space station. Next year's installment will be $2 billion on a price that they say will eventually total $30 billion - and that most other people think will have to go a good deal higher. The House passed the $2 billion last month, and a Senate Appropriations subcommittee went along with it yesterday.
