Sixteen high school students have been suspended for drinking wine while on a school-sponsored exchange trip to France, a country famous for its fermented grape beverages.
"We have a strict policy against alcohol and drug use," said Bob Spence, East Troy School District administrator. "But I don't think anyone thought we'd have to apply it under these circumstances."
