Description

Sam Spade is a successful investigator who hits on every woman he meets, including women who cause him trouble. Brigid is just one of those women. Sam gets involved with her when she comes to his office begging for help, and he and his partner agree to help her. Although Sam often seems completely self-centered, he does become very upset when his partner is murdered while he is keeping an eye on Brigid and her colleague. Sam then goes on a hunt for his partner's killer and finds himself lost in an intricate plot to find the Maltese Falcon, a priceless treasure.

Sam spends much of the film trying to extricate himself from the web of lies in which he has landed. He finally discovers that.....
