Description

Gordie Lachance is first seen at the beginning of the film when he has grown up and has become a writer. His good friend Chris from his childhood was killed recently, and Gordie decides to write down the story of the adventure that in some sense defined the rest of their lives.

Gordie goes along with the other boys' plans to find a dead body, and he learns a lot on the way. He discovers that no one should be taken at face value, as he tries to convince Chris that he is just as good as everyone else. He also finds that there are some things about which you simply don't speak, such as the experience with the deer by the railroad tracks.
